Upon receiving your kefir grains, immediately transfer them to fresh milk (for milk kefir) or sugar water (for water kefir). If you're not ready to make kefir right away, you can store milk kefir grains in a small amount of milk in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Water kefir grains can be stored in sugar water in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
We ship kefir grains with expedited methods to ensure their viability. Typically, orders are processed within 1-2 business days, and shipping takes 2-3 days within the continental US. We package our grains carefully to keep them healthy during transit.
Our standard milk kefir grain package (approximately 1 tablespoon of active grains) can ferment up to 2 cups of milk daily. Water kefir grains (approximately 1/4 cup) can ferment about 4 cups of sugar water. Both types will grow over time with proper care, allowing you to make even more kefir or share with friends.
We stand behind the quality of our kefir grains. If your grains arrive inactive or fail to ferment properly when following our instructions, please contact us within 14 days of delivery, and we'll provide a replacement. We also offer troubleshooting support to help ensure your success.
